Welcome to Native Songbird Ortho-Bionomy® and thank you for honoring your path to health and happiness. Native Songbird is a holistic wellness practice offering treatments in Ortho-Bionomy® with the intention to support clients in their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. Additionally, Native Songbird seeks to educate the community, locally and at large, about the healing support offered in Ortho-Bionomy® and the importance of self-care through one-on-one sessions. I hope the following words aid in your understanding of this amazing work and further inspire your intentions towards self-care.

Adding to the buffet of wellness therapies, Ortho-Bionomy® has a unique way of diffusing tension, discomfort, and trauma by supporting the body in a balanced way that allows it to begin unwinding and re-organizing according to its own timing, depth, and rhythms. Developed out of Osteopathic medicine and combining elements of Holistic medicine and Judo movement principles, OB builds upon a belief in our innate ability to heal  and creates an individualized approach by balancing all aspects of our being towards ultimate wellbeing. This includes the bony structure, soft and connective tissues, fluids, and energetics. The gentle, non-invasive approach of OB helps to relieve:

- structural misalignments

- muscle tension and soreness

- nerve pain

- digestive and visceral dysfunction

- supports healing from injuries and trauma

- acute and chronic movement and holding patterns

- pre and post-surgical support

- anxiety, stress, and depression

- symptom management for pre-existing conditions

- aids in the re-education of systematic function towards better balance

OB believes that where there is flow, there is healing; the sooner we restore flow, the sooner relief and healing begin to take place.

Like many incident prone humans out there, I began my journey in OB in 2013 with a neck injury. It was one of those “sleep injuries” where you can’t turn your head without intense pain and resistance. Due to the sensitivity of my misalignment I was hesitant to seek traditional forms of structural therapy and after several days of pain and struggle, my mother recommended that I try OB; “It’s gentle and not forceful”, she said. I was absolutely amazed by how quickly I returned to freedom of movement and relief from pain with the simple, subtle support I experienced in my first session. I continued as a monthly client until the potential for re-injury seemed to just fade away as my body gained greater integrity through the re-education of my holding and movement patterns. After two years of regular treatment, I became curious about how it all actually works and in 2015 I began to study with the Rocky Mountain Ortho-Bionomy Center in Grand Junction, CO, graduating in 2019. My experience in OB continues to fascinate and inspire me daily as I experience the profound depth of healing and rebalance potential I witness in the sessions I offer to people in my community.

If you are in need, or simply curious about how OB can support you on your journey, I invite you to explore Ortho-Bionomy with me, at Native Songbird; offering weekly sessions at Main Street Clinic in downtown Gunnison, CO. To schedule appointments, please call or text at 970.964.8190, or you can reach me by email at hmbell.ortho@gmail.com.

Peace and love to you, my good humans!
